On August 11-12, Seminis - a regular event that has become a tradition - were successfully held in the city of Melitopol (Zaporozhye Region) in the Ukraine.

This year, this practical-scientific seminar has achieved the status of an international seminar, having been attended by delegations from the Netherlands, Russia, Armenia and Moldova. A total of 400 participants familiarized themselves with varieties and hybrids of vegetable and cucurbit crops from Seminis.

At the company's exhibition and on its demonstration fields, the participants in the seminar had the opportunity to see a unique vegetable collection numbering more than two hundred varieties and hybrids of tomatoes, cabbages, peppers, eggplants, root crops, watermelons, melons, onions, sweet corn and many other crops. Shown to the participants were not only varieties and hybrids familiar to them but also a large number of new, highly promising varieties which proved to be excellent performers in the growing conditions of the Ukraine on the Seminis test fields in Odessa and Melitopol.

During the seminar, much attention was given to Ukrainian vegetable growers and experts having experience in working with vegetable and cucurbit hybrid seeds from Seminis. The participants also had a chance to become acquainted with advanced technologies of intensive vegetable farming, such as growing seedlings in cassettes, use of drip irrigation and many others.

The seminar proceeded in a business-like atmosphere and its participants had an opportunity to not just see but also taste the vegetable and cucurbit products on display. Energetic exchange of opinions and impressions gained went on over a friendly dinner.
