Claret   

Claret is a medium early variety. The plant habit is long - a plant height of 50-55 cm - and very erect for easy harvest. The leaves have a nice dark green color, which is less subject to discoloration at full maturity than in other comparable varieties. The stalks are smooth and long - approximately 25 cm to the first node - with medium vanes and attractive shiny color. Claret is tolerant to "black hearts", "watery stalks" and Phoma. Compared to other selections, Claret has an excellent field-holding ability and fairly good tolerance to bolting. Suitable for both greenhouse and open-field production for summer and autumn cropping. Recommended planting density: 220,000 plants/ha (30 x 15 cm). Growing technology.
