Mentor

Mentor is a very productive celeriac variety with mid-early maturity. The firm, upright foliage is about 45 cm long. The anthocyan-free roots are very uniform, round-shaped and relatively smooth and have few side roots. Internally, the roots show good quality and firmness and are less susceptible to hollowness than other comparable varieties in this segment. The roots of Mentor have a high dry matter content and maintain a very fresh white internal color during processing. Mentor is a heavy producer but one of its most remarkable features is that it is very easy to harvest. Other important characteristics of this variety include excellent storage capability and some field tolerance to Phoma and Septoria. Suitable for bunching, fresh market and processing, as well as for storage.
Recommended planting density: Early: 40,000-45,000 plants/ha. Normal: 50,000-57,000 plants/ha. Sowing period for direct seeding: March/April. Growing technology.
