Sweet Scarlet F₁ 

A new super-sweet (SE) sweetcorn hybrid with kernels of unique red color. At maturity, kernels exhibit genetically determined red pericarp and white endosperm. Kernels are very sweet and tender at industrial ripeness. Ears measure 17-18 cm in length. Requires no spatial isolation from other sweet or super-sweet corn hybrids. Kernels are cooked by steaming or in a microwave oven. The red color becomes less intense when boiled for more than a few minutes. Suitable for fresh market and processing. Planting density is 75,000 pl/ha. Growing technology.
